When my grower, Marcello Hernandez, first offered me fruit, I’ll admit, I was skeptical. It was later in the harvest season, and to be honest, the fruit was already a bit overripe for my usual taste. However, I took a chance, drawn to the unique site and eager to return the following year to see what it could offer. I’m glad I did—sometimes, instincts do pay off! The vineyard has since become a staple in our Pinot lineup, adding a distinctive layer of Los Carneros' earthy elegance, with that signature funkiness that makes it so special.

"Very fresh with lovely tension, the 2021 En Garde ‘Hernandez Vineyard’ Pinot Noir offers red plum and juicy strawberry flavors alongside teaberry and damp earth notes. Fresh and smooth on the tongue, enjoy now and over the next decade. Drink 2024-2034" - Owen Bargreen
