94 points CELLAR SELECTION (Wine Enthusiast Magazine)
"Deep, ripe and opulent, the nose of this wine gives aromas of cherry liqueur and cola, while the palate displays candied raspberry, tea leaf and sage flavors on the balanced but richly textured palate. While certainly charming now, this will unfold for the next decade." - Tom Capo

"This 2022 ‘Pleasant Hill’ Pinot Noir from En Garde offers a bold and inviting expression of the Russian River Valley. The nose is rich and expressive, revealing notes of ripe strawberry preserves, spiced plum, and a touch of vanilla bean. On the palate, flavors of wild red berries, dried thyme, and a hint of black tea unfold, carried by a velvety texture and balanced acidity. Approachable and generous in its youth, this Pinot Noir has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next decade. Its seamless integration of fruit and herbal undertones makes it as captivating now as it promises to be with time in the cellar. " - Jeremy Young

"The best thing about this Pinot is the balance between lush, ripe fruit and vibrant acidity. On the ripe side you have an enormous extract of raspberries, cherries and cola, sweetened with smoky new oak. On the balance side is tangy acidity and the earthiness of tobacco, mint and sous bois. A bit brawny, but delicious and voluptuous. Every sip adds to the complexity, which extends into a long, spicy finish." - Steve Heimoff
